Fishing pressure is moderate right now and generally guys are moving around offering chances to fish different spots between the swingers and the drifters be it fly, float or spin. The canal season for navigation ended October 13th and some sections are being lowered. Not a dozen hook ups for a morning effort, but at least a few that might include a couple steelhead or a couple browns. So far we are probably looking at some fish from earlier higher water and new fish trickling in on medium-ish flows instead of one bigger batch of fish on a blow out event. There are miles of water for fish to be dropping back from compared to about only a short mile of Oak water. Another unseasonably warm day today with chance of showers tonight. As a few post holiday reports come in it sounds like guys have had some better steelhead action. Temps are on the mild side, dropping down some at night and thru today and over the next part of the week we are getting some melt off which should be good for maintenance. At least in the turbine channel we can look for some of those fish that wont be taking an overland route, to drop back downstream filling in the fast water gravel sections.
